FabTalk – It's all about Fabric!

Here is a picture of the front of our new store.  We moved during the Christmas holiday.  Christmas seems like a blur, but we are almost organized.  We are focusing on two shows upcoming; one in Oklahoma City next weekend and Tucson, Arizonia the next.
Stop in and visit us at 1813 9th. St. (beside Luby's Cafeteria parking lot).  It is very easy to find.  See you soon.

New Shop Samples

I wanted to share some of the new shop samples that we have completed.  We know how much everyone likes to see new quilts, etc.

First we have County Lines made with Norcott's Stonehenge fabrics.  These fabrics are so rich.  My photography is terrible and I think the fluroscent lighting doesn't help them either.  This quilt turned out absolutely beautiful.  We did it in a lap size, but we have it kitted in twin size.

Next is another new What Cancer Cannot Do quilt.  This one is done in blues/reds/brown.  Keep watching, as we will be doing it in other colorways as well.

Here is our new tote bag, Hampton Tote by Me and My Sister Design.

Last is our new Twister quilt, done with bright Moda Swirls and a black border.  This tool is so fun to use, and there are so many designs that can be made with them.

Hope you enjoyed the latest.  I'll be posting more within the next few weeks.

Oklahoma City Quilt Show

I'm getting ready to head to Hot Springs, Arkansas; but wanted to share a few photos from the Central Oklahoma Quilt Guild's summer show in Oklahoma City two weekends ago.

This is my friend Joy from A Joyful Soul Fabrics.  As you can see her booth is full of bright , modern fabrics
from Amy Butler and Heather Bailey

Everyone, meet Abbey.  She is modeling Jennifer Paganelli's Honey Child fabric.  Contact Joy at if you are interested in this.

This is a section of Prairie Quilt's booth that was decorated for Halloween.  It was absolutely darling, especially the cat.  Prairie
Quilt is located in Hennessey, OK.  I've never been there, but have heard good things about it.  Their website is

Doesn't she make a fashion statement.  I just love the boots.

Last is Nora from Hands on Tradition.  She has lots of wonderful Daewoo fabrics. Her
husband Ron is a quilter and longarms.  He wasn't in the booth when I dropped in.
Their website is

I would have liked to have taken more photos to share, but I had several
mornings of dealing with a stubborn computer so ran out of time.  It is so nice
to get to know the other vendors as we do a lot of shows together.  Each "shop" has
its own niche, so take the time to visit their web shops.

Quilt Across Texas

It is only a few months away.  The Quilt Across Texas Shop Hop will soon be upon us.  Make your plans now to participate.  There will be 90 shops, a wonderful line of fabric from Moda (which just arrived) and lots and lots of prizes.  Go go for all the info.

Here is a glimpse of the fabrics, but a swatch of each is shown on the Quilt Across Texas website.

Thought I would mention a few events we will start the first six months of 2011.  First is our 6 month BOM, called Rocky Mountain Sampler.  A very pretty lap sized quilt with 12 blocks.  Set up fee is $25 and you will receive two blocks per month for $15.  Included in this BOM is the borders and binding.  There is no finishing kit to purchase.   Sign up deadline is Janury 8th., and the start date is February 1.

Stay tuned for more info on the Quilters' Football League.  The Enchanted Quilt will be a team in this league starting in April and running through August.  Be a part of this team effort to receive points for PRIZES, PRIZES, PRIZES, discounts, patterns, recipes and games.  Sign up will start soon.

We will also be starting a Saturday sampler in May or June.  You will have a choice of two colorways.  Set up fee is $25 and if you bring your block in the shop on the designated day (COMPLETED) you will receive the next block FREE!  If you miss that day, that is ok, because you can still get your block for $5.  This is a 13 month program, and is called Quilt au Chocolat.

This should be enough to get us started.  Stay tuned for more from The Enchanted Quilt, Where Magic is Made With Fabric and Friends.

2010 Customer Appreciation Party

We had a lot of fun last night with all the ladies that attended our Christmas Party.  Everyone got a gift and we had several win prizes from the games we played.  Of course there was lots of food for everyone to eat.  Take a look at a few pictures taken during the games.

Happy Hollow Designs

Look what I just finished!!  I actually had time to complete something;  he is so precious.  I do need to take him home and "rosy" up his cheeks a bit.  This is one of the fastest projects ever.  Take a look at  to see all of these small cute projects.  These make great gifts as well as projects to keep all to yourself.

Customer Appreciation Christmas Party

We are rushing around like mad, getting ready for our Customer Appreciation Christmas Party, Thursday, December 2nd. 6-8 pm.   Food, games, door prizes, specials just for our customers that attend!

We had a great turnout to see The Supper Quilt!!  It was so beautiful and there doesn't seem to be enough words to describe it.  Dr. Locke and his wife Marilyn are so nice.  I loved hearing about how Dr. Locke made this quilt and where it has been.

The Supper Quilt & Christmas

Remember Saturday is "The Supper" Quilt Exhibit at the MPEC, 1000 5th. St., Wichita Falls, TX from 10-4.  This is one day only.  You won't want to miss seeing this extraordinary quilt.  Admission is FREE, however we will accept donations to help defray some of the expense.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!   It is that time of year already.  Can you believe it??  December 2nd. from 6-8 pm we will have our Customer Appreciation/Christmas Party.  Food, games, prizes, and specials just for our wonderful customers.  Bring a goodie to share and set aside this time for fun and fellowship.   See you there.

Back Home

I'm back home from Market, and I sure have a lot to do.  You always pay a price for being away for any length of time.  Stock to log in, and get on the website, organizing info from Market., ordering stuff, etc.  Hopefully by the end of the week, I'll have made a dent in it.

Market 2010

I said I would post some pics of Market in Houston.  It is very overwhelming, and I've done this at least five times.  No wonder my feet and back hurt!

This is part of two aisles of about 23 just before opening day.

This is Maxwell & Pillow's booth.  They are designers for Michael Miller Fabrics.

This is a beautiful line of fabric from Riley Blake Fabrics.

This one of Northcott Fabric's booths. Stonehenge is one of their most popular lines of fabric ever.  We carry the flannel, and some of their cottons will be arriving in Dec or Jan.

This is part of Shannon Fabric's booth.  They have wonderful "minkee" type fabrics in many prints, stripes and textures.  I love walking through their booth touching these wonderful fabrics.

Tin Lizzy booth.  You never know what you will see in the booths at Market.

Like I said you never know what you will see at Market.  Ty Pennington has a line of home dec fabrics.

  Hope you enjoyed these photos!!

Off To Market

I'm cleaning my office to make sure I've got everything taken care of is done before leaving for Houston tomorrow.  While I'm there I'll post pics of some of the booths so you can share in some of the excitement and overwhelming things to see.  I always like to go, but I'm always glad to get back home.  I'm anxious to see what new gadgets and patterns are going to be debuting.  Of course there are tons of new fabric lines to see.  I look but usually wait until I get home before I order.  If I order while I'm there I probably would get myself in trouble.  I'll probably have pics to post sometime Saturday evening or Sunday.

"The Supper" Quilt Exhibit

I'm getting excited, we are only a little over three weeks away unil "The Supper" Quilt Exhibit.  This is a replica of DiVinci's The Last Supper painting in the form of a quilt.  It is 183" x 67" and is made up of 51,816 one-half inch squares.  It took Dr. Lock two and one-half years to complete.  He has exhibited this quilt is almost every state as well as several countries.  This is a rare opportunity to see this work of art.  Admission is free, however we will accept donations.  Mark your calendar for November 13th from 10-4 at the Wichita Falls MPEC, 1000 5th. St.  For more information call The Enchanted Quilt, 940-689-0990.
