The Quilted Closet

Posted by theenchantedquilt on Friday, May 15th, 2009

I want to introduce you to a lady that I met several years ago at Janome Institute.  Her name is Elaine Waldschmitt.  We had classes non-stop from the morning until late evening, and I took advantage of everything I could.  I was very tired, and didn't know if I was going to be able to stay awake for my last class.  The last class was taught by Elaine.  Her company name is The Quilted Closet and she hails from Johnston, Iowa.  She was so much fun and very interesting, that I didn't have any trouble staying awake.  I spoke with her after the class, and was immediately drawn to her genuine, warm character.  She is a very talented person, and loves embellishing everything from jackets to quilts.  Check out her web site, www.thequiltedcloset.com.  I promise that the pictures do not come close to showing the detail of her work.  There is a quilt pattern that has a pineapple on it that I first saw just a picture.  I wasn't that thrilled over a pineapple quilt. However when I saw it at her booth, I couldn't stop staring at it because there was so much to see --beading, glitter, thread play, etc.  If you ever have the opportunity to take a class or see her work, don't pass it up.
