Do you know what a Blue Moon is? It is when a full moon occurs twice within the same month. Every 29.5 days a full moon occurs and every so often it falls at the beginning of a month and at the end. Thus the phrase, "Once in a blue moon". The next Blue Moon is July 31, 2015. What does this have to do with quilting? In coordination with the obvervance of
Visit Your Local Quilt Shop Day on January 25th., we will be having a Once In A Blue Moon Sale. We have completed inventory and need to make room, so we are doing something we have never done before, and may not do again. We will be having a buy 1 yard, get 1 yard free. The free yard will be the least expensive. There is no limit to number of free yards. This does not include basics or wide backings. It will include the sale fabrics as well. This sale cannot be combined with any other promotions, and is not eligible for Loyalty Card credit. See you Saturday.P.S. ATTENTION INTERNET CUSTOMERS: This sale will also apply to you. The discount will be added when the order is processed. Please be patient however, as we still have some glitches between our Point of Sale system and our Web Site. If an item states that it is out of stock or is low, go ahead and place your order anyway; we will let you know if we are out of it. Please remember that none of our basics are included: Anthology basic batiks or Moda Kota batiks, tone on tones, blenders, marbles, Stonehenge, Moda Essential Dots, etc. If you are unsure, just place the order and we'll let you know.
Featherweight Program
I wanted to pass along some information regarding a program that is being offered by the Wichita Mountain Quilt Guild in Lawton. They are sponsoring a featherweight workshop taught by Jim Sorrell "The Featherweight Guy". This workshop will be Monday, March 10th from 12 noon until 3 PM at the Great Plains Vo Tech in Lawton. You will learn how to service your featherweight. Jim will teach you and give you a handout so you can do the service again in the future. Cost of the workshop is $50. Some of you may be aware that we will be sponsoring the Texhoma One Stop Shop Hop, March 28 & 29 from 9-5 at the Multi-Purpose Events Center here in Wichita Falls. There will be approximately 20 quilt shops under one roof for this shop hop. No driving from shop to shop. Lots of door prizes with the Grand Prize being a Janome 3160 valued at $999. If you live in Oklahoma or North Texas, and your local shop is not participating, request that they join in the fun. We still have a few more booths available. NEW STUFF
I am really excited about our latest fabric and kit. Men are sometimes difficult to make a quilt for because so many of the fabrics have a feminine flair. When I saw this fabric I immediately thought of my dad. He loved motorcycles, and I remember him talking specifically about Indian motorcycles. You have probably been around long enough to know that my photography skills are not the best, but here it is. This quilt is called Open Road.
Pussywillow Gang
We also have a new Block of Month starting in March. It is called "The Pussy Willow Gang". It will run for 13 months. The very best part of this is that the applique pieces will be cut for you with the adhesive on the back. All you have to do is place them, press and stitch! There will be a $20 set up fee, and then $22.99 per month.
Deadline for sign-up is Feb. 15th. We only have a few spaces left!
