Today's Tidbits

We are two weeks away from the Texhoma One Stop Shop Hop.  This has been in the works for about a year, and we are just about there.  Obviously not everyone will be able to attend, but we wish you could.  It will be lots of fun.  There will be 18 shops from Oklahoma and Texas that will be showing all of the quilt items that make their shops special.  Door prizes, free quilt block patterns, and some lucky attendees will receive a free tote bag.  Will you be a lucky one?

Check out the website or like us on facebook.

NEW STUFF

We have several new quilt kits and pillowcase kits that we will be debuting at the Texhoma One Stop Shop Hop.  For those that can't attend, hang on for a little while longer.  We will post them in a couple of weeks.

HOP THE RIVER SHOP HOP

Check out the website for info on our local shop hop , Hop The River Shop Hop.  All of the shops' quilts are posted in the gallery.  We have added four more shops this year, and the dates have been extended, April 24-May 3.  We want you to have enough time to visit all the shops.

PUSSYWILLOW GANG

We have a couple of spots left in the Pussywillow Gang BOM.  Setup Fee is $20 and it is $22.99 per month for 13 months.   The best part is that there is no tracing, transferring or cutting of the applique pieces.  They are already cut for you.  Just place, press, and stitch.  How about that for easy?  This is a great way to make a quilt, and have the cost spread over a period of time--much easier on the budget.

If you are interested in participating in this block of month, we have a challenge for you.  If you are the first person that can tell me which of our kits is the latest one that we posted on our website, you will win the sign-up fee for the Pussywillow Gang BOM.  Start searching--one chance per person.  Good luck!

TODAY'S TIDBITS

These pictures are so gorgeous; I just had to share them with you.

Icebergs in Lake Winnipeg (Canada) sometimes have stripes, formed by layers of snow that react to different conditions.  Blue stripes are often created when a crevice in the ice sheet fills up with melted water and freezes so quickly that no bubbles form.  When an iceberg falls into the lake, a layer of water can freeze to the underside.  If this is rich in algae, it can form a green stripe. Brown, black and yellow lines are caused by sediment, picked up when the ice sheet grinds downhill towards the lake.

The water froze the instant the wave broke through the ice.  That's what it is like in Lake Winnipeg where it is the coldest weather in decades.  Water freezes the instant it comes in contact with the air.  Look at how the wave froze mid-air.

Till Later,

Happy Stitching
