A New Year

This newsletter was sent Monday, but I've had a bunch of folks say they never got it; so I decided to resend it.  If you have already read it, just delete it.

1.  A New Year
2.  New Stuff
3.  Color My World Block of Month
4.  Reuseable Market Bag Class
5.  Baking Soda

We have started a new year and completed our inventory; what's next?  We tend to do things a little backward here at The Enchanted Quilt.  Most shops have a sale and then take inventory, we took inventory and now we realize that we have so many short bolts that need to go.  Mark your calendars for January 31st.-February 2nd.  We will be having an End of The Bolt Sale.  50% off if you purchase the rest of the bolt.  Most of these have less than 3 yards.  We will also be having a buy a yard, get 1/2 yard free of our regular fabrics (excludes basics).  We will also be moving more fabrics to our regular sale section.  You don't want to miss this sale, so mark your calendars.

We have new stuff arriving daily.  Lots of new books.  Doodle Quilting, Strips N Curves, Simply Sensational 9-Patch, 9-Patch Pizzazz, Save the Selvages, Simply Fat Quarters and more!  Check out them all http://www.theenchantedquilt.com/shop/Books/Various-Authors.htm

We have started our NEW frequent buyer program.  You will not have to keep up with cards any longer.  We have a library card catalog file where you will have a card with your name on it.  Simply pull your card when you make a purchase, we will write the amount of your purchase before sales tax, and after just six visits you will receive a gift certificate mailed to you for 10% of your purchases from those six visits.  If you have full cards, you will have until April 30th. to use them and/or transfer previous earned amounts  to our new system.  ALL old cards will be void after April 30th.  Come in on your birthday and receive credit for a $50 purchase as one of your six visits.  If your birthday falls on a Sunday or Monday when we are closed, you will can come in on Saturday or Tuesday to receive your credit.  After filling up your first card, you will progress to a colored card, and then you will be eligible to participate in specials just for you.  You will be notified of these via emails.  So it is important that you watch for those emails; you don't want to miss it.

The first block for the Color My World Block of The Month can be picked up tomorrow for all those local participants.

We are working on a Mystery Quilt Program that only lasts four months.  We will be sending you more info as we get it ready to go.

Our next class we are going to offer is February 7th (10-3) or February 9th. (10-3)  It is for reusable market bags.  We did this about four years ago, and eveyone loved it.  I have about seven of these bags to take into the grocery store, and it is fun to hear the checkers and baggers talk about how cute the bags are.  We will have quite a selection of kits which will include fabric, stabilizer, cotton webbing and pattern.  Everything is pre-cut for you.  The kit cost will be $16.50.  Class price is $10.  These make great gifts for birthdays and Christmas.  Is it too early to talk Christmas?

Baking Soda

We all know that baking soda has a wide variety of uses, but I found some that you may not know about:

Clean dirt and residue off fresh fruit and vegetables
Clean your bathroom tubs, tile and sinks
Make a hand cleanser and sofener
Facial scrub and body exfoliant
Absorbs heavy metals
Clean cloth diapers
Deodorize stinky feet
Non toxic deodorant
Clean baby clothes
Natural toothpast
Clean cars
Clean floors
Freshen linens
Clean furniture
Clean batteries
Soothe your feet
Wash your dishes
Absorbs radiation
Alkalizes the body
Treat colds and the flu
Clean shower curtains
Clean brushes and combs
Treat insect bites and itchy skin

I'm not sure how some of this is used, but I've used it for insect bites and to clean brushes and combs.
I usually put an ample amount in a sink with warm water, put the brushes and combs in that I want to clean, let soak for about 30 minutes or an hour; and they come out clean.

Until next time, Happy Stitching.
